Limited edition Giclee of Pepe le Pew charcoal drawing, hand signed by Chuck Jones. Number 76 of 120. Giclee shown is 12” x 9 1/4”, Frame is 20”x18”. RARE. This Handsome looking Pepe was part of the 20 charcoal drawings called “The Character Portfolio” created for the 20th anniversary of his daughters art business (Linda jones Enterprises). Originally they were only sold in complete sets for $6,000. Only after initial sales, a few unsold sets were split up to be sold individually. I Purchased this piece from Chuck Jones Studio Gallery in Laguna Beach in 1998/99 (This gallery was close to his home and I was told he visited often). This giclee was on display at the Laguna Beach gallery and latter framed by them when I purchased it. Excellent condition, stored away since purchase. Frame is black plastic.
Excerpt from back certificate: An Original charcoal drawings were created by the artist. A digital computer file was then created by scanning the drawings. The printer, under the artist's direction, changed and enhanced the digital image until it embodied Mr. Jones' concepts for the final prints. The images are then printed on Velvet Somerset 100% acid free fine art rag paper using extended life span inks developed specifically for the Giclee process. Once printed, the images are then airbrushed with a clear, non-yellowing, water, and UV light resistant coating. The edition is then titled on the reversed side and numbered on the image in pencil. Mr. Jones personally approved each finished print with his signature”.
