Up for auction is this folding card calendar for 1898 produced by for Liebig Company’s Extract. The front cover has a picture of a Santa in a fur trimmed green outfit and red fur trimmed cape, carrying toys and goodies. The inside has an 1898 calendar, where “Clara Zook” signed her name. The advertising along the bottom quotes: “Liebig Company’s Extract has thirty years reputation reliable & pure & economical. Signed in blue J. Liebig. Beware of Imitation.” The back reads: “The Best Tonic Beverage. The Cook’s Talisman.”
The over-all size is 3-inches x 3 ¾-inches. The edge is embossed with dots and scallops. It is yellow with age, but otherwise in very good condition.
