Item:254343051754Large Ancient Han Dynasty Glazed Vessel - CHINA - 206 BC to 220 AD Early example of early glazed pottery from ancient China. Intact and unsigned. Much of the green glaze remains, with typical wear due to 2000 years of burial. Glaze has iridescence in places and some slight crackling. Roughness to unglazed areas throughout and some ancient kiln adhesions. One ancient shallow chip and one area of glaze missing, which appears to have occurred during manufacture (see last two photos). Bottom drilled for lamp by previous owner in the 1940's (lamp works removed appeared to be from that era. Purchased years ago at auction, part of my personal collection that I am selling to downsize.
