- Description - English, circa 1880, unsigned. Made of very heavy lacquered brass and standing 4 1/2" high overall on its 4 1/8" square x 3/4" thick solid brass base. The top is covered with beveled glass and the wax height is adjusted with a micrometer screw mounted on the base. This unusual Welcker-pattern table microtome is in very good overall condition, in its original wood carrying case. Circa 1880. Designed for cutting both plant and animal tissue.
