If you search for "Ancient Stone Tablet" on Ebay you will discover that 95% of the listings offer reproductions for sale as "Authentic" antiquities. Some of them are of famous objects that have been in major museum collections for decades. This one is genuine and ancient. I have been dealing in antiquities for many years and I do not misrepresent my inventory. Returnable for any reason. I pay return shipping. 

 A large ancient limestone tablet ( 6" x 3.75" x 1/2" ) found in the ruins at Latakia, Syria. I am the second modern person to have handled this since it's internment. This was found by an IT specialist working in Syria just after the civil war ended in Lebanon. He came to the U.S. , packed it away and forgot about it until years later. The script is Syric  Abjad and is similar to the alphabetic characters of ancient Phoenicia, Hebrew and Arabic. All of the characters are consonants and the words run together with diacritic marks (the little circles above the text) to indicate vowels. If you view modern arabic characters you will see those diacritic marks used in their writing today. I cannot translate it and I don't know anyone who can. On the reverse there is a red mineralization caused by iron oxide from the soil in which it was interred. The mineralization goes into the the bottom of the relief carving itself. The carving is expertly chiseled out of the trapezoidal panel carved into the stone's face on both sides. A quite rare unique antiquity from a forgotten time in Syria's ancient history and large enough to display quite well.
