KTK Lotus Ware – rare olive green – A/F

Presented for sale is a very rare PAIRof KTK Lotus Ware porcelain china jugs or pitchers in dark olive green withwhite floral porcelain decoration.

KTK Lotus Ware was produced by Knowles,Taylor and Knowles in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Lotus Ware was very fragile and veryexpensive to produce; as such production lasted only four years (1892 – 1896)before the line was discontinued. Most Lotus Ware was produced with a whitebackground though apparently the rarest was potted in celadon green or deepolive green.

This pair of jugs or pitchers measuresabout 7.0 inches tall. Each piece is marked to the base with the KTK Lotus Waremark.

Condition: One had hoped these rare andexpensive pieces might have received better treatment through the years! In anumber of locations there is loss and chipping to parts of the white leaves(please examine photos carefully). In one case a piece of the vine is missing.There is also a tiny chip to the lip of one pitcher.

From what I can tell there is no damageto the green ‘stems’ that form the handle.

These are very rare and desirableexamples of a quality firm. As such they are worthy of restoration, though theydo show quite nicely as found.
