This Item Description ●Condition : Antique ●This is a Seto Sometsuke bowl with lid 10 set made by Hansuke Kawamoto, Gosuke Kato  (1850-1912) ●This is a high-quality Antique made in Japan. ●This bowl is a collaboration between famous Japanese potters Hansuke Kawamoto the 6th and Gosuke Kato the 4th. ●Hansuke Kawamoto Year of birth and death unknown A Seto potter in the late Edo period. The successive generations called themselves Hansuke. During the Horeki era (1751 ~ 64), he and Jihei Kawamoto built two kilns, the Asahi kiln and the Yuhi kiln. The fourth Hansuke turned from pottery to porcelain, and the Kawamoto family became established as a family business that excelled in dyeing. The fifth Hansuke was said to be a natural master craftsman, and in the Tenpo era (1830 ~ 44), the result of pulverizing the gearmanite and mixing it with a magnet produced a magnetic skin with a beautiful luster, and the dyeing was brilliant. Thanks to his achievements, he became an Owari Domain pottery artist and was awarded two pieces of silver every year. He used 'Hanzan,' 'Sanhan,' and 'Shintoen' as inscriptions on his works. In 1864 (Bunkyu 4), the sixth family head succeeded to the name. ●Gosuke Kato the 4th   He was from the Seto and Minami-Shintani districts from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. ●He was born into a family of potters who had turned to porcelain production since Bunsei 2 (1819) and took over the family business in Bunkyu 3 (1863). He called himself 'Togyokuen.'. He was an avid researcher on a daily basis, and devoted himself to the improvement of various porcelains, including the selection of the base, the study of glazes, and the devising of designs and designs, and he invented the idea of painting floating patterns of shiromori on glazes of white porcelain and celadon. ●It's an antique that my grandfather collected about over 50 years ago. ●I don't know the details, but I list items at the price they were purchased based on the list my grandfather left. ●Since it is an antique, it may have some crack, chips, but only bid if you are satisfied with the condition after checking the picture. ●Approximately 4.6inch in width and 2.4inch in height
