This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings. The blade is signed "Echizen ju Hyuga-no kami Sadatsugu 越前住日向守貞次", shinogi-zukuri shape, muromachi period ca.1670 era made blade. It came with NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper, submitted on Nov.,11,1972. The blade is in old full polish, no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunom with tobiyaki temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada, no openings, no blister and in good condition. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard, no dent, no crack and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with shakudo fuchi/kashira, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. Tsuba is marugata shape iron sukashi tsduba Iwith nice patina. It measures 19+5/8" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 5.5 mm thickness at the notch and 26+1/2" in mountings. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S. Payment due with in 3 days auction end.
