This is a Japanese WWll sword in honz ukuri mountings. The blade is signed "Noshu Seki Takeyama Yoshinao saku 濃州関武山義尚作" with 昭 inspection stamp, shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period ca.1940 era made blade. Yoshinao lived in Seki city, Gifu prefecture, made swords during WWll time period. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The temper line is wavy gumome temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep o-maru temper at the point. Forging grain is tight itame hada , no openings, no blister and in good condition. It is mounted in WWll time made mountings, the scabbard is wood scabbard, no dents, no crack and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with brass tsuba , tsuka-ito wrapping shows aged wear but no loose, no cut also in decent condition. Tsuba is mokko shape brass tsuba with nice patina. It measures 26+1/8" tip to the guard, 25+1/2" cutting edge, 1+3/16" width, 6 mm thickness at the notch and 36+1/2" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S.
