It is 5' x 9.5'. To answer your questions re. this flags history. This flag first flew over South Sudan in late 2002, at a US camp in Rumbek. The first US personnel on the ground decided, against regulations, to flie not only the US Stars and Stripes but, to flie the largest they could get their hands on. They designed one of the HF/VHF/UHF radio antenna poles, which was 40 feet in the air, to hold Ol Glory. I was one of four men setting it up and raising the flag that first time. Quite a dramatic scene, almost as moving as the Iwo flag raising in WWII, and potentially as significant in the War on Terror. When our CO, BG Herb Lloyd, flew in and saw the flag he smiled real big, and said, "Beautiful sight boys, but I will deny ever knowing about it". I left the mission with that flag Sept 2003, but a US flag flew from that pole until at least 2006, and South Sudan gained its independence July 2011. Books are starting to come out about the period and I am sure one will be written about our mission in the near future. I am selling the flag and possibly a few other significant memorabilia soon. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Provenance: Ownership History Available
