This piece came out of Jay Gould NYC mansion located on 5th Avenue and 47th Street. The mantel was on the 4th floor in the library. The mansion was demolished in 1953. As the photos show this piece is in excellent condition, and it was restored to meet today’s codes. Measurement is 79.25" in height x 73.50" in width x 13.25" in depth. The fireplace opening measurement are 44" in width x 42.25" in height at the pillars and x 36.50" on the sides. This is truly a work of art that belongs in a museum.
