TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT ATTEMPT FROM NEW YORK TO LITHUANIA. (1896-1933). WWI service with the Rainbow Divisiuon (1917-19)[1655]; co-founder of South Bend Airways (1929-31)[1655]; Ford Trimotor pilot in FL (1932-33)[1655]; he and Stanley Girenas were killed when they made an attempted New York-Kaunas, Lithuania transatlantic flight in the Bellanca Lituanica and crashed at Soldin, Pomerania, Germany, just four hundred miles short of their destination (1933).
