Superb Circa 1870 Louis XVI Style French Gilt-Bronze & White Marble Mantel Clock Original throughout, displaying the highest caliber of casting, chasing and fire gilding. Truly a Showpiece! Unique opportunity to own a spectacular Belle Epoque mantle clock of imposing size and proportions.  Pure Louis XVI style with seated putti holding a floral garland before a fluted column.  The base on toupie feet is adorned with inset bronze classical friezes.  Perfect 5 3/8" fired enamel dial with pierced and gilded hands behind a beaded bronze bezel with convex beveled glass.  The bell striking 8-day  movement with hour and half-hour countwheel is signed by the prestigious Parisian maker, AD Mougin.  Numbered 5754 with matching number on the cast brass cylindrical pendulum bob.
