This is a fantastic Cinnabar table or stand. We believe it to be very old-we think it is a least 19th century or earlier. Other similar pieces we have seen date to the 18th century or earlier. The story we love is that this belonged to an old,wealthy family from Galvestonz Texas. They had a fine home built but when the great hurricane of 1900 hit, they abandoned​ their beautiful home and this is one of the few Treasures they took with them. Their home​ was completely destroyed. This was passed down from generation to generation until it was sold , 30 years ago-in the 1980s to the man we bought it from. The mark on the bottom is carved as well and must be of important​feel in dating it but we don't know what it says. Gorgeous interlacing Lychee fruit, Vines and leaves cover the top, even where the sides gracefully curve up around the edges. The legs are carved as well. Measuresmately 24" long by 18" deep and 12" high. Several repairs especially to the legs-some of the repairs look like they were done with some sort of clay Andrey be very early-others were done with glue. Please judge yourself the age ext from the pictures-we have been dealing in Chinese antiques for a decade but are not experts in every category. Thank you!!!
