The flat base shows an impressed cross with dots. A kyathos such as this one were used by the Etruscan elite at a symposia for drinking wine....a custom adopted from the Greeks. Kaythos dates from 750-650 BC. 3 1/3" tall and is 3 1/8" in diameter. For reference see "Italy of the Etruscans--Junker items 182 and 183. It is very dark brown --nearly black impasto---with small shard out of rim that has been professionally restored. It comes from Ostracon Gallery in Switzerland and has a COA from them.
