Item:233040831579“ART OF THE ANCIENT MEDITERRANEAN WORLD” Huge collection of material assembled for a gallery/museum show put on between 1999 and 2004 as a partnership between the Nagoya, Japan Museum, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. As the title indicates, the show (and the accompanying catalog you're looking at) highlighted an enormous range of artifacts that were produced by the civilizations of Ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt. Some very minor entries for Minoan and other Mediterranean civilizations as well, though that is not the prime focus. I've scanned the table of contents, so check out the attached photos! The book has extensive write-ups by the Editor/Curator (in English and Japanese) to complement the literally hundreds of full-colour images of the items that were on display as part of the show. Each one has a detailed write-up description giving details of the item, its age, provenance, materials, makers (if known) and so on. This is in addition to the lengthy general text that introduces each section. This is truly a massive catalog -- it measures about 9 x 12 inches, softcover, and is 270 pages long. A great reference source, and a truly beautiful book! The book is printed on glossy pages due to all the illustrations, and also has some fold out maps, a fold-out cover, etc. It was published in Boston by the Museum, in 1999. It is used, but in excellent condition, with no writing, no stains or soiling, no missing or torn pages, and a clean cover tight spine. Top bidder should add $22.90 postage within Canada, or $29.90 for mailing to the USA. I have other, similar books up for sale now, so please check them out too! Multiple books always combined to save on postage, & full refund if you’re not happy. Thanks for looking! Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
