Seller: legalgolfer24 (106) 0%, Location: Bellvue, Colorado, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 303271694381 The Rockfield includes two claims: one 20 acre Lode claim and one 20 acre placer Claim. The Rockfield is a monster--three adits that drive into the mountain with likely over 1800’ of workings. The gold is very rich in this area and was reported as high as 18 ounces per ton from this mine. In today's values that would be $20k per ton in freemilling gold.In 1940, a report showed one short ton of ore shipped from the Manhattan district from the Rockville. It had a documented value of $500. (Gold was at $35 per ounce in 1940.) Survey NotesThis is a very high value gold mine. The stream below it shows heavy black sands and small bits of gold just upon a cursory observation. Panning and dredging would likely return many ounces with minimal work. The primary value is in the mine itself, noted as being cut on the Valentine gold lode. There is quartz, gold, iron and some possible platinum seen in the rough discarded rock below the mines. Someone came in and processed a few hundred tons of tailings with a crusher and trommel. Obviously there was a good amount of gold as the port on the trommel is huge, indicating they were not just recovering small flakes and bits. Ideal location for a small mining operation with a small crusher and shaker. A modern small-med crusher and trommel are available from the seller. A placer operation would be the icing on the cake. The Rockfield claim encompasses three adits that were gated and are now open. The historic reports speak of a 900 linear foot tunnel in 1901, intercepting a rich ore body that was returning up to 18 ounces of gold per ton. The mine was shut down in 1941 by the war act. The mine was held by various companies and corporations, but was never reopened for production. This mine is about an hour from Ft. Collins--close enough for daily mining or setting up a big operation. Mine 10038At mine 10038 there is a tipple-type of mechanism that is placed just behind the mine entrance. It does not allow access. The tailings are fine and appear processed. There is a trommel just outside the mine that was likely used in the early 1980s to separate gold, very interesting. There are a lot of very processed ores. There is some tiny bits of gold visible in the fine tailings. A very nice culvert and a reclamation gate is in place. This adit appears to lead into a good sized mine, There are large, intact timbers visible in the mine. Mine 10014There is a pit (glory hole) associated with the main mine entrance. There is an entire level, built of tailings, at least 20k tons, at the top. There is a lot of milky quartz to be found. Some tiny flecks of gold are showing in this quartz. Gold is the primary, if not only mineral on the claim. Historic reports state a 900’ tunnel and gold up to 18 ounces per ton. In addition to the gold and quartz, we found some very nice terminated pyrite crystals. There is limited history on the mine with the exception of mention of a 900’ drift and additional other levels. A full exploration should be conducted. There is intact and stable timber visible. The mine is in very good condition.
