Many items from this museum (which I believe is now closed) were auctioned. Back of frame this piece rests in is a note from Paul Lauritzen dated 1969. This not reads the the piece is from King Tuts Tomb in the Vally of the Kings. It goes on to say that he purchased it from his guide who purchased it from a local tomb guide. The letter states that the tomb was in bad condition and many such pieces were being sold. I have no COA, artifact was purchased at auction of deassessioned items from local museum. This object is legal to own. Egyptian officials introduced a law in 1983 to regulate the ownership of Egyptian antiquities, saying that any ancient artifacts discovered in the country are considered state propertieswith the exception of antiquities whose ownership or possession was already established at the time this law came into effect.
