Seller: oldlodgecolo (4,143) 100%, Location: Denver, Colorado, Ships to: US, CA, GB, AU, Item: 223648291683 Large and very early patent medicine bottle for Dr. Flint’s Quaker Bitters from Providence, Rhode Island. Pale aqua bottle is BIM circa 1880 with embossing on three sides (“Quaker Bitters” on back, “Dr. Flint’s” on one side panel and “Providence, R.I.” on the other side panel). The bottle is in good condition with no damage. The front panel retains about 95% of the colorful front label which is in fair condition with considerable wear and soiling. The label shows an elderly Quaker gentleman with bottle in one hand and his cane in the other. Below the image, it reads “Root/Herb Choice Bitters “and “Try This and Thou Shalt Be Benefitted!!”. At the very bottom it reads “Patented 1872”. The sides and back panels retain portions or their original paper labels but they are heavily worn with large portions missing (see photos). The shoulder and neck of the bottle still have some of the original outer wrapper that at one time encased the bottle. This outer wrapper is dry and brittle but adds a neat primitive look to this early and impressive bottle.
