Seller: akins_americana (89) 100%, Location: Smyrna, Tennessee, Ships to: US, Item: 183382501174 Model 1872 kepi from the Indian wars period. This one came into the shop as a consignment item. The shell is intact and the blue wool is faded with a minimal amount of moth damage. The original chinstrap is present as well as a reproduction replacement. Two general service eagle buttons have back marks of J. H. Wilson Phil. PA. Wilson had government contracts to provide headgear, buttons and devices for same from 1873 thru 1895. Unfortunately one of the buttons has managed to escape, so only one remains. The black tarred brim is detached and is in very good condition. The dark blue material attached t the brim suggests it was probably removed from a modern or reenactors hat. The lining in the shell is in great shape with no tears or rips. There is one small spot where the stitching is missing. This is a great project for the DIY reenactor out there! Condition: Used, Modified Item: No, Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
