Victorian Opaline or Clambroth Hobnail Glass & Brass Newel Post Finial. D This is a wonderful 19th Century Victorian Opaline or Clambroth Hobnail Glass & Brass Newel Post Finial. It stands approximately 7-3/8" high, including the original spun brass collar. It is in beautiful estate condition with only age appropriate signs of normal wear, as shown in the photos. There are NO chips, NO cracks, NO repairs and NO replacements. The original brass collar shows an absolute minimal amount of movement in conjunction with the original cement fitting. The Clambroth or Opaline glass shows appropriate period production irregularities such as trapped speck sediment. There is a piece of metal on the inside that rolls around, but shows no signs of visibility unless angled towards a bright light and turned for the piece to roll in front of the light. It will not affect the use or display of the piece. The top is correctly polished. This comes from a collection of antique newel post finials that we are continuing to list.
