U-239A porcelain insulator, unmarked but made by the Pittsburg High Voltage Insulator Co. Brown glaze with lighter highlights. Mold line over dome (MLOD) indicating this was made in a two-part mold using a dry process in which clay was put into the mold and compressed under high pressure rather than the shape of the insulator being trimmed from wet porcelain. 1" x 1/4" chip on inside of outer skirt with an associated 1" vertical crack showing on the mold line of the outside of the skirt, slightly misaligned top (one side is taller than the other), unglazed 1/4" of the bottom of the skirt, 3/8" crack along the mold line on the other side of the skirt. The cracks are likely to have occurred during manufacturing. Unglazed pinhole with a circular indentation at the top which is typical of PHVIC. Condition: Used, Condition: 1" x 1/4" chip on inside of outer skirt with an associated 1" vertical crack showing on the mold line of the outside of the skirt, slightly misaligned top, unglazed 1/4" of the bottom of the skirt, 3/8" crack along the mold line on the other side of the skirt.
