Seller: bleemelbuilding (7,701) 100%, Location: Terre Haute, Indiana, Ships to: Americas, Europe, JP, AU, Item: 152326669703 Chrome Thick Round Milk Glass Shade Art Deco Ceiling Hanging Light Fixture Retro It is Summer in Indiana, which means flea markets, Outdoor Auctions and Estate Sales. It also means that I will not know, from one week to the next, what I will have for sale. Please set me as a favorite seller, and check back for more great antique and vintage treasures. ITEM DESCRIPTION This sale is for an original Chrome Finished Hanging Two Light fixture, which holds a large center mount thick pressed glass shade, see picts. I love the fixture, The Ceiling Cap is great, very deep with a ribbed detailing, very Art Deco in style, see picts. As any used antique Ceiling Cap it also has some ‘sloppy painter’ paint that will need cleaned, see picts. It is approx. 5 1/2 inches in diameter, where it meets the ceiling, measuring almost 3 inches deep, and is secured to the ceiling and mounting hardware using the hanging ring and bar, original to the fixture. This sale does not include the hardware that holds it to the ceiling, but this will not show and can be purchased at most ‘mart’ or lighting stores, see picts. The hanging ring has a short chain, more surface dirt/rust than rest of the fixture, and may have originally be a brass, see picts. This eight (8) link chain attached to the top cone shaped top of the tubular fixture, see picts. The body of the fixture has a ribbed slanted molded design, see picts. The bottom of the tubular frame has a two (2) light socket fixture mounted with the light bulbs running parallel to the ceiling. The center bar attaches to the top of the light fixture, and then the finial bar attaches to the bottom of the fixture, see picts. There is a finial that was with the fixture when it was purchased, but it is not chrome, so may not be original. The large bowl shaped glass shade has a center hole, and the finial holds the shade, but it does wobble and will need some additional hardware to secure it, see picts. The Shade was added to this fixture, and will need a washer(s)/bolts so it does not wobble, but is appropriate, see picts. The top of the tube fixture is further decorated with three (3) bent/curved metal bars, see picts. This is an antique fixture and there is the patina/surface dirt that you would expect, see picts. The Molded Glass Shade has four (4) molded decorative horseshoe shapes open at one end, see picts. The main body of the fixture is frosted, with a clear glass used on the ‘horseshoes’ and on the molded edge rim, see picts. The Frosted and Clear Glass Globe measures approx. 12 3/8 inches diameter at it wide point, see picts. It is approx. 3 3/4 inches deep, and works well to hide the light sockets/fixture. These light sockets are more of a Bakelite/Early Plastic material in brown, the wiring is cloth, appears to be the original wiring, and will need inspected by someone more knowledgeable than I. The fixture, when mounted on the ceiling, will extend approx. 24 inches down, see picts. I have pictures of the two light sockets, inside the globe, see picts. This is a vintage fixture, but the sockets make me believe it dates more to the 1940-60’s than the 1920’s. Lots of pictures for your review. It is a very versatile fixture, and would be perfect for a kitchen, dining room, any area where you need an overhead light in a very Mid Century Modern Retro Décor, see picts. The globe/shade is considered in good condition, with no significant chips or cracks and only the with minimal edge wear expected on an antique globe, see picts. This fixture is being sold as I purchased it, and will need inspected before installing. Electrical components are sold ‘asis’. I never guarantee electrical items as I am not an electrician and am not qualified to inspect electrical fixtures. There are some imperfections to the chrome finished, and the ‘sloppy painter’ paint expected on a used ceiling cap, see picts. This Vintage Lighting Fixture is being sold as described and pictured, with the surface dirt/wear, you would expect on a used, but cared for, see picts.
