This is a Locke ceramic / porcelain insulator. I am not sure of the U number for this item, as they are all so similar. The subject is a cable top style with a ridged skirt, which are from U-436 through U-535. Ceramic / Porcelain Insulator - LOCKE 2 USA - CABLE TOP - DEEP RED / BROWN GLAZE This is a Locke ceramic / porcelain insulator. I am not sure of the U number for this item, as they are all so similar. The subject is a cable top style with a ridged skirt, which are from U-436 through U-535. The front / left side skirt is embossed "LOCKE / 2 / USA". The glaze on this piece is a deep red / brown color. It measures just over 3" in height and just under 3.75" in width at the base. I have tried my best to demonstrate the color of this insulator. The 1st 5 photos were outdoors in natural light. The remaining photos were all taken indoors with a direct bright light. This piece has some surface scratches. It has a few areas on the right side where the glaze didn't take. (See Photos #3, #9 and #10.) There are additional photos which these areas can also be observed. Overall, this piece is in nice condition. I am not an expert in insulators, and have relied on my own research on Ebay and some internet sites / forums. Please do your own research. I welcome any feedback from the insulator collectors out there! This is from my father's collection. We made regular stops at antique shops while on vacation road trips as a kid. He is also not an expert, he just thinks they are really neat. He has downsized, and so the collection must go. I have listed several insulators over the past few weeks.
