Seller: mtmountains (1,790) 100%, Location: Prattsburgh, New York, Ships to: US, Item: 232148724674 This old Counter Weight for old style doors with automatic closure was used in a Metal Shop as a Anvil by the father of the seller I purchased it from, to form, bend and shape different metals with a hammer at a home business Metal Fabrication Shop. The Sledgehammer or round Hammer Head part measures approx. 6 inches long and 3 ¼ inches across the end. It has a stand that measures 3 ½ inches down the center marked 6D-41591. The bottom of the stand measures 2 ¾ by 2 ¼ inches with 4 holes for mounting. The 4 holes are approx. ¼ inch and threaded. They have to be re-threaded as I was unable to get a bolt into them due to wear. This item is sold as is and described with 12 pictures to verify condition. It weighs approx. 16 pounds. I was informed that cast iron should not be hammered on which is different than I was told. It may be good for light material Blacksmith, Tinsmith, Coppersmith, Sheet Metal Fabrication or Craft Use while I can not guarantee it. It was probably used without the stand attached to a bench etc. It would also be a good door stop. It is well used with rust, pitting and wear in good condition sold as a Counter Weight only.
