This instrument does play in its current condition. However, after years of sitting in a closet, I would suggest it be cleaned/serviced and buy a new case or have this case deep cleaned. I have given both the instrument and the case a good wipe down and aired out, but it still needs some professional attention to be at its best. The plating is decent for its age and all the keys work. The Buescher True tone was notably good for soprano saxes in its day and the 103,7xx serial number suggests it's from the early 1920s. It comes with a Buescher mouthpiece. If you have use for an American-made specialty instrument, check this one out! No international sales/shipping. Correction to my earlier listing: This horn is a SOPRANO sax (not sopranino). It is 22in long from top of neck cork to bottom of bell. I inherited this horn and had never seen one like this.
