Seller: nickell2 (611) 100%, Location: Huntington, Arkansas, Ships to: US, Item: 263938723599 Up for bid is an antique SATSUMA TEA SET that I believe is from the Meiji period. It was probably made sometime between 1870's and 1910's. This set was bought by my Uncle when he served in the Navy in the Pacific before WW2. I don't believe it is signed as to factory or artist. This set was used but not for the last 50 years that it has been in my possession. The set does have discoloration due to age. As you can see in the pictures there is a couple chips on the sugar lid and a chip on a cup and one saucer has been repaired. These is a chip on the unglazed rim at the bottom of the sugar. The large tea pot is in perfect shape. No chips on the spouts. I may have missed some small imperfection or some manufacturing defect. Other than the discoloration the colors are beautiful and the gold trim has not faded. Large teapot measures about 6" tall by 7 1/4" wide with spout and handle. The smaller teapot is about 4" by 5 1/4" wide. The two handle sugar measures 4 1/4" by 5" wide. The creamer measures about 4 1/4" by 4 1/2". The cup with handle measures about 4 1/2" by 2 inches tall. The saucer measures about 5 1/2 inches. There are 19 pieces to the set. If you are looking at this set you probably know more about it than I do. This set needs to go to someone that will appreciate the the craftsmanship of this antique. It would make a wonderful display in your china cabinet. I will ship it priority mail thru USPS and in the US only. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. It will be double boxed. I will apologize beforehand for the amount of bubble wrap and tape that was used. Please review the pictures and ask all questions before bidding as all sales are final. Thank you for looking.
