Crypt Balansae plants are a popular choice for beginner and experienced aquarium hobbyists. These stem plants create a tranquil scene in the background of an aquascape, as their dark or bright green reed-like leaves sway gently in the current, offering cozy hiding spots for fish to play in. The plant's short stems produce long, thin leaves that make a great contrast to hardscape materials. This species hails from Southern TCrypt Balansae plants are a popular choice for beginner and experienced aquarium hobbyists. These stem plants create a tranquil scene in the background of an aquascape, as their dark or bright green reed-like leaves sway gently in the current, offering cozy hiding spots for fish to play in. The plant's short stems produce long, thin leaves that make a great contrast to hardscape materials. This species hails from Southern Thailand where it inhabits fast-flowing rivers and streams with high limestone content. Balansae plants thrive in an environment that is rich with nitrate, phosphate, iron, CO2, and calcium. Calcium supplement is highly recommended, as the plant's leaves will grow twisted and deformed without it. =========================✦✦ Balansae plants need moderate to high lighting. To achieve the attractive puckering or ruffled effect of the balansae plant's leaves, the lighting of at least 2-3 watts/gallon is needed. High lighting can also cause the leaves to take on a bronze tint. Mature plants with high light can potentially produce flowers when grown immersed. This plant is much easier to grow submersed, however. All crypt plants hate changes in water parameters and will undergo "crypt melt" if conditions vary too much. The leaves of the plant begin to rot and essentially melt away. If this process begins, you can cut away any rot and attempt to stabilize the water. LIVESTOCK

• We guarantee live arrival on all of our livestock. In the rare event livestock shows up dead, we must be notified within 24 hours. Keep in mind these plants just took the journey of their lifetime in a dark box for 2-4 days so they will take time to recover and be at their best again. Please Take clear photos of the dead product and send it to us within 24 hours of receiving the item and once the item is validated by us we will send a replacement or refund minus the cost of shipping. Failure to comply with one or more of these policies will mean we can no longer cover you.
• If you are concerned about extreme heat or cold, we highly recommend having the post office hold your mail for the estimated delivery day. This is a completely free option which can be requested online via www.usps.com or in person at your local post office. This way, your package will remain indoors, protected, and out of the elements for you to pick up once the package has arrived.
• We guarantee live arrival of all live stock. This means we assure that live stock will show up alive. We do not guarantee your success in keeping the livestock alive/healthy. Lots of outside factors that we cannot control go into the success or failure of keeping livestock healthy. We are here to help but are not liable after you have received the livestock alive.
