Seller: craigkc (9,824) 100%, Location: Sunny California, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 221258058302 Vintage Modernist Pillin Art Pottery Vase Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Pillin art pottery vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This impressive piece stands approximately 6 1/4 inches tall; it has a three-sided shape, and each side is about 7 1/2 inches to 7 7/8 inches across. Because of the broad sides, this pot has more room for artwork / decoration than many Pillin vases which normally are more slender. Unpacked, it weighs a little under 2 3/4 pounds. The exterior of this glossy pot is decorated with many different bright colors, with a colorful, patchwork-type background. Decoration includes three women. One is holding a bird; one is holding a guitar, and one is with what appears to be both the moon and the sun. This mod pot would be a super addition to an American studio ceramics collection. Identification This piece is signed beneath, "Pillin." It is by Polia Pillin (1909-1992); she is a well-known artist, listed on Askart, Vasefinder, and elsewhere. Condition The vase looks very good, with light wear, but no clay chips or cracks. As shown, there are two tiny exterior rim glaze flakes (these do not detract; pen point shown in between them in my photo). It has fine glaze crazing. Glaze variations and tripod stilt marks are as made. Please review the photos, and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing. Note Regarding Best Offers We welcome all offers on our "Buy It Now with Best Offer" listings. We do not use automatic accept or automatic reject. We also do not decline offers, or allow them to time out. If we can't accept your offer, we will respond with a counteroffer that is agreeable to us; you may find that it is agreeable to you as well. TERMS OF SALE (the not fun but unfortunately necessary fine print) 1. Sales Tax Before an item is shipped to a California address (or picked up or delivered within California), a sales tax of 8% will be collected, unless the buyer provides a valid California resale certificate form by mail (or in person, in the case of pick up or delivery). The resale certificate must be properly filled out in accordance with California Board of Equalization regulations. No exceptions. 2. Item Descriptions and Images I make every attempt to disclose damage to items and to provide a detailed description and photos. Be aware that varying computer monitors/graphics cards display colors differently; the color may look different on your screen than it does on mine. I do not provide partial refunds for merchandise. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. Fraudulent activity will be reported to eBay. All items are sold "AS IS." Our images and descriptions may not be used without the express permission of user craigkc. If you are the buyer and you need the item images after the listing has ended, please ask and I'll re-post them. 3. Payments Buyers must prepay before merchandise is released. Paypal payments over $250 will only be accepted if I am shipping to an address that has confirmed status; a signature will be required for delivery of all items if the total payment is greater than $250. Contact me in advance of bidding or buying to find out about accepted payment methods for local pick ups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing unless prior arrangements have been made. 4. Shipping and Handling The cost of well-packed shipping and handling within the lower 48 U.S. states is listed above. Double-boxing is not necessarily included unless otherwise stated, or unless prior arrangements have been made. Domestic shipping will likely be via USPS priority or FedEx ground, and the method will be chosen by the seller; USPS standard post / parcel select may be used in some cases. A physical address is required for FedEx ground. If the buyer wants a different shipping method, actual shipping and handling costs will be charged. Actual shipping and handling costs will be charged for combined shipping parcels (containing items from more than one eBay lot). Actual shipping and handling costs to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations will be stated on the eBay invoice after the listing ends. In this case, do not pay until after you have received my invoice. I will ship most items internationally, but shipping and handling rates may be higher than rates within the U.S. Due to delivery problems, I am no longer able to offer first class mail international. Upon request, I am happy to provide a quote to areas outside of the contiguous United States. Some items may be too large to be shipped internationally. International buyers are responsible for knowing the parcel size limitations, weight limitations, and prohibited items for shipping to their country through the U.S. postal service. If you are uncertain whether an item can be safely and legally shipped to your country, ask before bidding or buying. I typically ship on Mondays and Thursdays, unless a holiday or special circumstance precludes it. If you pay with Paypal, your item will be shipped on my next shipping day after your payment clears (e-checks take several days to clear). I am not responsible for the transit time once the item(s) has been accepted by the shipping carrier. International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up; do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. I do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as gifts. US and international government regulations prohibit such behavior. 5. Disclaimer of Liability I assume no responsibility for use or misuse of items. If you are under the age of 18, do not bid or buy without the consent of your parents! 6. Other Information I do not use "Second Chance Offers." If you receive a "Second Chance Offer," it is not from me. Acceptance of Agreement By bidding or buying, the buyer acknowledges their understanding and acceptance of the above terms and conditions as a binding agreement. Condition: The vase looks very good, with light wear, but no clay chips or cracks. As shown, there are two tiny exterior rim glaze flakes (these do not detract; pen point shown in between them in my photo). It has fine glaze crazing. Glaze variations and tripod stilt marks are as made. Please review the photos, and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing., Main Color: Multicolored, New or Used: Used / Vintage
