AUTHENTIC TEEN or SMALL ADULT WOMENS NORWEGIAN BUNAD FROM NORWAY. It is labeled 12 but should also fit 14-18 or more, but please look at the measurements given here.
100% woven cotton. One of a kind custom made with quality Norwegian fabrics. Dark red cotton vest and red & black striped stakk (skirt) accented with classic handwoven apron in matching colors of red and black. White hand made cotton bunad shirt.
Wear black stockings and black shoes, preferably non see-through.
Approximate measurements:
Bust 35 1/2". can be easily be taken in on the sides
Waist 31" but can be a bit larger if opened at the waist behind the apron by moving fasteners. Can easily be smaller by taking in at waist.
Shoulder at neck to waistband 13-14"
Total length approximately 49-50"
Adjust larger: The blouse, although fitted, is probably large enough as they are usually roomy for folk dancing and comfort. Open the fasteners at the waist and leave the opening hidden behind the apron for a little extra extra width if needed.
Adjust smaller: Shorten skirt by taking a pleat above the trim insteads of just turning the hem. Easy to take in side seams.

The BUNAD for adults has strict ethnic rules as to how it must look and what silver is to be worn to be "Correct". As these costumes are 100% hand embroidered and sewn together, they usually cost from $3000, silver NOT included....they are made with deep hems and wide seams so they can be taken in and let out as needed, and when passed on from one generation to another. My mother`s Bunad went to my wife and now our daughter is wearing it. Each valley has its own bunad which is recognizable to others. Usually a young person does not own an adult bunad before he or she is confirmed at the age of 15...because of the fact they are still growing and the expense....so they have a FESTDRAKT / BUNAD.
The FESTDRAKT BUNAD has no distinct design designated by a particular area and is made of a combination of beautiful fabrics, borders and designs from different valleys made to assimilate the adult costumes....and they are marvelous....some of soft wool, others of cotton...lavish brocades etc.
