It lights up great and the stained glass shade glows very attractively. The body of the shade is stained glass as well as the shade. In excellent, original shape, it weighs 16 pounds and measures 11" wide by 21" tall. Truly an "Art piece" with a utilitarian aspect. It's very possible that this exceptional piece was affixed to a newel post at the bottom of a grand stairway. The burner is about half there - it has the orifice but not the actual burner with the chimney holder. It's unusual to see one with the remnants of the old cloth-covered hose.
