Beautifully designed Craftsman Mission Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau period TABOURET table or stool c. 1900 with cut-out motifs to the slatted sides. It is made from quarter sawn oak and has an octagonal top and four slat legs that have pierced cut outs and are splayed or canted outward. It is approximately 18 inches tall and and top about 13.75 inches wide. A charming and lovely example of the movement. I do not know the maker. It is in very good structurally sound condition commensurate with age and use, with very few expected very minor scratches and mars to the top, only mentioned for complete accuracy and can easily be polished out. The finish is rich and dark. A extra coat of varnish seems to have been added at some point and has darkened the original finish. The bottom shelf has a replaced screw where it is joined to one of the slat legs, not too noticeable unless you get down on the ground to inspect it and it can be removed. Slight circular darkened area on top. Please ask questions before purchasing and thank you for looking!
