A very rare, possibly unique, masterwork by famous Mexican silversmith, Antonio Pineda.
Monumental size, high grade silver, plaque-like belt buckle that could be exhibited on a stand when not worn on belt.
Silver slab, with hand hammered background, deeply engraved with numerous animal figures that resemble pre-historic Native American cave paintings/drawings. One seems to be a Mammoth.
Marked: SILVER, 970, Antonio Taxco "crown" mark, HECHO EN MEXICO, P Z, and 145.
Silver purity: 970/1000 (better than Sterling)
