Antique Framed Collection of 3 French-style Tapestries. Courting Couples. c1890..
All have identical borders. Matted within a brownish-rust fabric. Each of the pictures is 6" Square and has an identical border of woven green and gold. The Golden threads run through each of the tapestries (making taking a picture of a shining object difficult).
All three scenes are courtship poses...2 with languishing women & men sitting close. One holding a Floral Wreath for her hair? And one placing a flower in her hair. The third tapestry has the woman offering a nosegay to a soldier.
Each has the setting in a pastoral area. Trees, flowers and plants are abundant.
The frame dimensions are: 11.75" Wide x 25.75" Tall x 7/8" in Depth.
The piece is in VGC. Was recently reframed. No tears or other blemishes in the tapestries or the mat.
Will be packed with care in a picture box and insured.
A lovely piece to add to a Collection of Godey Plates or to just add interest to an area in the house that will draw the eye.
