Item:28564513240916 Antique Balusters / Spindles. There are 2 that are slightly different than the other 14. They are very nicely made and quite unique. I was told that they are made by soaking the wood, then twisting it and letting them dry like that. I have a lot of 16 vintage wooden twist-style spindles. They came from a house that I owned many years ago up in Polish Hill, Pittsburgh, Pa area. I planned on reusing them one day but that day never came. There are 2 that are slightly different than the other 14. Those 2 have a 1/2" difference at the top where they are squared off, then go round( you can see in 1st pic [main pic] , 2 are separate from rest of group, on the left end 0.5" the difference in length on rectangle end goes .5 inch more towards the center). They are all the same, end to end, length at 29 1/4" long and 1 1/8" wide (at squared ends). They are very nicely made and quite unique. I was told that they are made by soaking the wood, then twisting it and letting them dry like that. I'm not sure if thats correct or not, but I found it to be interesting. I do not want to break up the lot, all 16 go together. I saw similar ones listed online, made to order, for $95-160 + S&H.
