Seller: f_g_salvage (1,099) 100%, Location: Bristol, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 331846551025 Here is a deadbolt mortise lock that was removed from the 'Polhemus House' in Newark, NJ prior to it's demolition. It was built in 1857, and this lock set matches the original hardware. Most of the original hardware sets were 'D. M. & Co.' (Davenport & Mallory) pieces, but this one isn't marked (though the knobs match the rest). This is a dedicated deadbolt lock that would be mounted somewhere above the main latch, only accessible from one side of the door. Paint has been gently removed from the components to retain as much of the patina as possible. The porcelain knob is heavily crazed, but it is solid in it's mount. The mount is cast iron core with what looks to be a pewter outer layer, and the rose is cast brass. The bolt moves in and out as it should, the bolt mechanism is a combination of cast iron and brass. The original mounting screws are included. Dimensions are: -rose is 1-5/8" diameter -knob is 1-5/8" in diameter -lock faceplate is 3-3/16" X 7/8" X 1/8" -backset is 2 1/4" Thanks for looking, feel free to ask any questions.
