Seller: la11212 (736) 100%, Location: Kansas City, Missouri, Ships to: US, Item: 262721771674 Here is a gorgeous solid mahogany Victorian newel post from the late 1800's. This was salvaged from an old demolished church in Excelsior Springs, MO. Excelsior Springs is a very old Missouri town. The newel post is 5 1/2" wide at the base and 38" tall. Structurally, the mahogany is in very good condition. There are some tight and stable checks as shown. The outer rims of the turned details have nice edges with minimal dents or dings. You will see holes in the base of the post where it was mounted and dowels where the rail mounted. This would make an awesome upcycle piece as a stand or just a stand alone decoration. I will ship this for a flat rate of $49.00 and it will be very well packed so there's no surprises. I am a high end furniture maker and I'm very familiar with wood species and condition. This piece has been cleaned with a mild blend of dish soap and a soft bristle brush. It can be easily stripped or sealed as is. Please ask any questions needed before purchasing. Thanks!
