Here we have an exquisite example of an umbrella from the Victorian era, featuring a gorgeous floral butterfly embroidery!
This one is all white, including the smooth white handle with a gold trim ring. The fabric is faded and has some minor age stains, but is still strong for its age and shows no tears or holes, with the exception of one of the ends that has come off of the post, which can be seen in the photos. This could be repaired I imagine.
This example shows what kind of detail was put into such things during that era, the embroidery is incredible! It measures approx. 32” in diameter.
