These light garments kept the inside of the corsets protected as much as possible from body oils & perspiration, these undergarments are not only  essential but of the most importance. Bloomers, chemise & shorter base petticoat were put on  before one's corset & other upper supportive undergarments. These base, light cotton garments offered protection for the corset & let the body breathe keeping one  comfortable in all seasons. Offering a larger size, handkerchief soft, corset base petticoat. Enough gathered fabric on waist to increase if one wishes. Note: Mannequin waist was too small for petticoat so garment is pinned for photos. Coming from a French trousseau a corset  base petticoat with the name "Hettie" hand  embroidered on the front left hip of the petticoat.  Wispy soft, 3 gore construction finished with a lightly gathered flounce adorned with embroidered florals. Expert faggoting between the gored panels & gathered flounce. Pretty florals  run the circumference of this lightly gathered panel. The flounce hem ends in a scalloped trim, tight & intact.  When held to light, I cannot find age holes of any size. Very Nice! If they are there, I cannot see them.  The flounce is gorgeous with possibly  only one or two stray/fray threads that may need a clipping. Back centre closure gore may need a few stitches closed at the base. Waist band shows slight age related wear & some period repairs. Loose or thread bare stitches have come loose & will need some stitches to close over the band. Typical age related loose, broken stitches will need  some hand stitching to close. No closures present. Will provide complimentary period hook & eye. (Please see all photos.) CONDITION & REMARKS: Very Good! Bright & beautiful!  Some age related wear at the waist band that will need some stitches. Some period repairs at the waist band. Possibly a partial drawstring at one time but not certain. Missing back closure but I am providing one. One bit of cotton may need to folded over with a stitch on the back right side of the closure area. Few stray/fray threads. If I have missed something, it is because I cannot see it.   (Please see all photos.) Enjoy! MEASUREMENTS: Taken lying flat without stretching. See photo's for tape measures.
