It is uniquely designed. This bell stands on four feet that have lion paw feet and figural busts at the top. The bell is situated in the center of these feet but is activated by a rod that extends up through the center post and can be pressed down with the thumb when the bell is held in hand by the four small handles at the top of the post. This post extends through a bucket that flares slightly outward and measures about 4" tall by 4" wide at the top. This bucket was probably used for waste or for holding spoons for various functions. The bell measures 10" tall overall and is in good condition considering its age. It does wobble back and forth because of two uneven feet and the bucket sits tilted a little off center. It also has some patina, surface wear, and a couple dents here and there. Please see pictures. Even so, with the dainty pleasant-sounding ringing of the bell as well as the uniqueness of the item overall, it will make a wonderful gift or addition to someone's collection. Please inquire with any questions and more pictures are available upon request.
