It has a silvered engraved scale and a vernier marker. This barometer was made by J.Pochaine of Newcastle and bears the company's signature and was hand crafted between 1800 and 1810. The piece measures 36" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/2". It has an latched opening to the face but the glass is gone. Latch is fine. There is some wear to the silvering on the face. The wood is in pretty good shape. Tube still contains mercury but no longer seems to work. Please see photos for further condition details. I've tried to show closeups of the entire piece both front and back. Excellent candidate for restoration.
