The two sections do NOT come apart. The round shape has a flared top and there are two ribbed round brass rings in the middle of the nozzle. It measures 4 ¼” long x 1” in diameter at the top and 1 ¼” in diameter at the round base. There is no rubber washer. There is some minor pitting in the brass, due to wear and usage, on the two sections of the nozzle. Etched into the round base is “GEM” PATENTED Oct 16, 1877 June 2, 1886’. We consider this item to be in very good condition. The brass is tarnished and darkened with age, but there is no evidence of rust. Enjoy!
