Seller: wilksie (1,238) 100%, Location: Lymington, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 332891745882 This is a fascinating and Rare find. I cannot work out how old it actually is but it is at least over 100 years and who knows it could be worth a fortune. It was obviously hand crafted as has tool marks that can be seen in the close up photographs from a mixture of metals. There are ancient Egyptian designs around the urn. The deep fitted lid fits snugly inside and creates a good seal. At the bottom on the inside there is something that resembles the remanence of sand/specs of a glass like dusting. Again can be seen in the images. It is known that Ancient Egyptians buried vases like these in tombs. Often containing things of value, and even parts of the body ( Heart, Liver etc) in honour of the Dead. The vase measures approx 18 inches in Height with a circumference of 17 inches round the widest part and approx. 4.5 inches depth.
