Quadruple Silver-plate Pitcher This Beautiful, Incredible Antique (1868) Roger Smith & CO. Quadruple Silver Plate Pitcher is in Very Good Condition, consistent with its age and use, with the exception of a little discoloration inside the pitcher itself on the white ceramic/enamel porcelain? lined insert. The silver has a beautiful luster and is in Excellent Condition with no visible signs of wear. (Please Refer to Photos) It is marked on the bottom of the pitcher: ROGERS.SMITH &CO. MERIDEN CT Pat. Date June 13, 1868 number 221. It is lavishly designed with a raised Fruit, Leaves, and Blossoms on each side of the pitcher. It has birds, branches with leaves, and flowers on a band surrounding the top part of the pitcher. There is a cute raised flower detail on the top of the handle. It measures approximately 13" Tall, including the knob on the hinged cover, and 5.5" Diameter at Base, 6.5" Diameter at top opening, while the roundest part is 22" in circumference. This is very large and heavy. It is pretty shiny and clean and may show some patina, but you may wish to have it polished to your liking. Used for water, tea, or any beverage server.
