This is a superb original Kenrick cast iron door knocker dating to 1864.

It is in its original condition complete with its original striking plate.

It measures a total of 11 inches (28cm) in height, weighs 1.1k  and is fully marked for Kenrick and dated for March 1864.  The knocker swivels well on the backing plate and is formed with the head of Mercury.  Mercury was the god of shopkeeper and merchants, travellers and transporters of goods and also of thieves and tricksters!
