This 200+ year old primitive is truly a one of a kind iron door lock from 1804 made by H.N. - (Unknown). It measures 12 long x 7 1/8 wide x 1 1/8 deep in inches. The bolt through plate is 2 3/16 inches wide - this plate attached to the door edge. A knowledgeable locksmith can make a key that would work. Keys from this era are available and could be modified to fit or one could be altered by a knowledgeable locksmith. The bolt will slide but will need some lubricating. The catch is in tact and moves with little persuasion. It is unknown where this lock came from - a similar lock was just highlighted in an article from Syracuse's Post Standard House of the Week - Jan 24, 2016 and can be seen at syracusedotcom.
