This is the most marvelous old horse figure I have seen in a long time. In fact I have never seen one like this before. It's made from a ceramic like material and has all of it's detail molded in. It's a good sized piece, not the typical small Occupied Japan figures, and is a figure of a tired looking old cow horse standing upright, front legs together, back legs apart, and head hanging down. It has pointy ears standing upright, a large muzzle, and around it's neck t's a big bell like cows or sheep would wear. It's surface is mostly angled, small flat spots joined together, looks kinda cubist, and it has an allover white colored background. It's hooves, tail, and mane are black in color, it's back, the sides of it's head and chin are brown, it has maroon eyes and nostrils, and then all has a clear, high gloss finish. It's marked as shown on the back of it's front legs, 'MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN' in black small capital block letters. The figurine has no nicks, chips, cracks, lines, stains, crazing, etc., and produced in the early 1950s. It would make a very nice little addition to Occupied Japan, horse, or 50s Japan ceramics collection in general Figurine is 4 1/4" tall, 7" long, and about 2 1/2" wide.
