Seller: mamasantiquessilverandsuch (1,148) 100%, Location: Clovis, California, Ships to: US, Item: 113340147882 Up for consideration is this Beautiful Antique Pair of Large Heavy Victorian Pedestal Cast Iron Planters Urns with Footed Bases. They have very nice patina, aging related rust. They would be a decorative focal point, center piece of any porch veranda, garden, yard, patio setting. We do not know the age but suspect they date to the 1800's. It would be very hard to find another matching pair, at any price! They are in very good antique estate condition. They both have considerable rust, corrosion, age related fading of paint and one has a light hairline crack (see photos). One must remember these are cast iron not ceramic, plastic or glass! There is no reason to believe the hairline crack will ever be any more than it is and if it was painted it wouldn't show at all. There is a hole that runs through both. We are not yard garden art experts but we would assume there should be a porous planter insert should work and are probably available. That would fill in the hole. And from reading about others online this is standard. Please view all photos carefully as they are part of the item description.INSPECTIONWe understand this is a considerable amount of money and encourage any serious buyer to view and inspect prior to purchase. Each measure approximately 18.25 inches in diameter at top, 7 inches in diameter at base and 17.75 inches tall. They each weight approximately just under 40 pounds on our bathroom scale. Please view all photos and ask any questions prior to purchase. Thanks for viewing our listing!SHIPPINGSorry shipping quoted for lower 48 United States only. When considering shipping cost consider weight and size! No doubt they will have to be shipped in separate boxes and both will have a hefty shipping surcharge. Also we will probably need to ship via FedEx Smart Post, this will reduce the cost but we will not be able to offer 'signature required'. So if you do not live in a safe and secure area, and feel they need that service, we may need to get a shipping quote. Almost all of the items we offer are vintage, antique or simply pre-owned, consequentially, reasonable wear and tear is to be expected. Therefore our items are sold as seen. We try to describe any damage or problems we are aware of. We always include a number of clear photographs, that are integral to the description. So please review them closely. Please be aware that vintage and antique items are not likely to be in mint factory condition, if you are not used to buying antique or vintage items and are looking for a pristine, unused item, a new reproduction may be what is required - we are honest in our descriptions - we want happy buyers.
