It is made of oak and is painted. We have the newel post, 1 section of railing with balusters that went from the 1st to 2nd floors and a 2nd floor hallway section. The post has carved bullseyes at the top, a fluted shaft and 1/4 round columns at the corners. It is notched for the step. It is 47 inches tall, 7.75 square at the base and 6 square at the shaft. The staircase run is 164 inches long or 13 feet 8 inches and has 24 balusters. The hallway section is 98 long with 19 balusters and is 30 inches tall. Your bid buys the lot. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Please see the pictures carefully. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch. About Us My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting. Steve and Michelle
