Item:192310529420 Antique Lakota Sioux Handmade Beaded adult Leather Moccasins.. These mocs are 11" inches in length, from tip of bottom sole to front of sole.I were bought in a lot from a old trader ,said they came from Lakota Sioux . They have been in storage . My guess is these are likely turn of 1900's I am no means a expert but, taking in the fact they have tiny greasy brighter yellow seed beads& a darker greasy yellow seed beads as well. They tend to date these from last of 19th C.to early 20th C. They way the string appears that was used in beading also indicates age. See all pictures. The bottoms ,resoled look like buffalo hide, but, could be elk. The uppers are very nice buckskin.. Re- soled at one time. Mocs like these were only worn normally during ceremonial activities around the tribal living areas. They need to be taken care of and one center tab has bent forward,I placed coins on it to hold down for photos. The uppers are buckskin.they still soft and pliable.no cracking or damage. Except bead loss my estimate 5%. Inside of the heels, there has been added extra thick buckskin ,perhaps padding ,adding additional comfort for the wearer. The last photo shows a centimeter ruler &without. I am selling and guarantee these to be as described Thank You John If one had a good bead restorer.approx 100.00perhaps 200.00 .if you know a large Native American dealer with brick & mortor shop ,ask him if he could let you know a restorer whom whose handles his restoration &get the mobile # for quote .
